About
the Yishuv
Shaked is a secular community under the aegis of the Samaria Regional Council. The yishuv was established by the Mishkei Herut Beitar settlement movement in 1981 as part of a group of other yishuvim, with the aim of creating a demographic buffer between the Nahal Iron valley area and northwest Samaria.
The settlement is located above Highway 65, between Hadera and Afula. About 15 minutes drive to Highway 6 and about 15 minutes to the new city of Harish.
The weather in this area is ideal, usually fair and pleasant. The yishuv is located on a plateau in a green hilly area located at 436 meters above sea level. The name is symbolic, due to the almond (shaked) trees that grow in the area.
