The oak tree symbolizes strong roots planted in the place, the earth of Gush Etzion, many years ago.
Alon Shvut is the yishuv established near this iconic oak tree. Yigal Alon gave it its name. The yishuv is among the highest in Gush Etzion, reaching 995m above sea level, so bring your sweaters!
The yishuv is a Religious Zionist community, with a warm and friendly community. Love for the people of Israel, the Torah of Israel and the Land of Israel.
